CCA Dates, Time, Bussing, and Non-Participation
The CCA program is divided into two semesters of 13-week blocks. Within these 13-weeks students will have 25 CCA lessons. The dates for the 2026-2027 school year are:
Thursday, September 1st – Semester 1 CCAs start
Tuesday, December 8th – Semester 1 CCAs end
Thursday, March 2nd – Semester 2 CCAs start
Tuesday, June 3rd – Semester 2 CCAs end
The majority of CCAs take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 15:30 to 16:30. On these days all school busses will depart at 16:40. A smaller number of CCAs, typically academically focused, take place on Monday and Fridays from 15:30 to 16:30. Bussing after these CCAs are arranged for an additional fee if needed for CCAs taking place on Monday and Friday.
Students who decide not to enroll in an CCA on Tuesdays and Thursday may leave the campus on Tuesdays and Thursday at 15:30 if picked up by a parent or guardian and the correct notice has been provided to the primary homeroom teacher or secondary principal. Non-participants are also able to remain at school until busses depart at 16:40 in a designated area under the supervision of XLIS teachers. During this time non-participating students are expected to quietly complete homework, study, or read.
The XLIS community will be notified about the start of CCAs via email by the school’s Public Relations Department. Parents will need to register their children for CCAs using the registration link and associated documentation included in the email. The documents will include activity descriptions and the registration link will allow parents to select desired classes and process payment. Parents will receive a confirmation receipt of payment by email within one week, which guarantees the child’s enrollment in the activity.
Should a child need to withdraw from an CCA, refunds will be processed in the following manner:
- A full refund is provided if a student withdraws in the first 7 days from the activity’s start.
- A 50% refund is provided if a student withdraws in the first 14 days from the activity’s start.
- A prorated refund is provided if a student withdraws from the school or provides a documented medical reason from a doctor.
Students may change CCA classes within the first 14 days from the activity’s start, provided there is space available in the desired class.
