At XLIS, university counseling is more than submitting applications—it’s about helping IB learners reflect on who they are, explore what they care about, and shape purposeful futures. Rooted in the values of the IB, our counseling supports students in connecting their strengths and passions with the right opportunities in higher education and beyond.
The journey can be complex, exciting, and sometimes uncertain. We encourage students to approach it with curiosity, courage, and resilience. Explore boldly. Reflect deeply. Trust your voice.
To parents: your support, insight, and patience are invaluable. We are always here to assist—please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, thoughts, or concerns.
Side by side, we’ll help students craft futures that fulfill both their ambitions and their hearts.

Student-Led, Counselor-Supported
In keeping with the IB’s student-centered philosophy, we believe students are the protagonists of their college journey. In the university application process, the student is the leader—counselors and families are there to advise, not direct.
We encourage students to:
- Take initiative and explore broadly
- Reflect deeply on their goals and identity
- Be proactive in seeking support and feedback
At the same time, we maintain strong communication with parents and teachers to ensure aligned support across all levels.
