Athletics at XLIS
Rooted in a philosophy of education-based athletics, the XLIS Blue Dragons represent the school in organized interscholastic competition. Starting in P3 and continuing until DP2, all XLIS students are invited to tryout, join, or support school teams across a variety of sports. As students progress throughout the program, they will have increased opportunities to play competitive matches and travel for tournaments. Being selected to represent XLIS as a Blue Dragon is a source of pride for many students and often serves as a core memory of their time at the school.
Activities at XLIS
Activities at XLIS are developed and offered to enhance the balanced education of XLIS students. While enrolled at XLIS, every child will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that extend learning beyond the classroom. Each type of activity that is offered is structured to provide experiences designed to enrich the intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth of XLIS students. Opportunities for learning and enrichment are prepared in accordance with various grade levels and interests of the diverse student body. The various activities at XLIS aim to:
- Serve as a bridge between the home and school, offering enrichment rather than simple instruction.
- Promote the balanced growth of each child by providing developmentally appropriate activities.
- Enhance play skills, increase social competence, and cooperative thought and action.
- Assist in the formation of positive self-images and attitude with respect to school, family and community.
Provide the appropriate peer contact that each student wants and need.
