Greetings, and welcome to Xi’an Liangjiatan International School (XLIS), my name is Kriss Parker, I’m originally from the Isle of Man, which is a small independent country of the west coast of England. I have had the honor of working for XLIS since 2017. I work alongside some of the most passionate individuals who strive to ensure all our staff and students get the best possible support a school can provide.
Over my time here at XLIS formally Xi’an High-Tech International School (XHIS), our school has grown exponentially both in students and staff. Managing the logistics of a growing and developing school can be challenging but also rewarding, being able to see your work being used daily helping others in their daily work and studies is an extremely satisfying feeling.
Our beautiful campus provides students with a safe, clean, and developing environment, giving student room to grow and develop both physically and in their academic studies. One area which the logistics team focuses on is student and staff feedback, we want to ensure everyone has a voice into the development and use of the schools’ facilities, which is why we encourage all our students to submit ideas and suggestions that they would like to see within their school.
The logistics team provides a range of services and support to the whole-school, from security, catering, cleaning services, IT, purchasing and resources, to health and safety, and school transportation. Ensuring students are provided with a clean and safe environment is our top priority, whilst ensuring teachers have the resources they need to effectively teach day-to-day.
XLIS prides itself on having such an effective and well-mobilized logistics department who from behind the scenes are keeping our school running and ready for a creative and adaptive learning environment.

The primary school at XLIS is made up of students from three to eleven years old. We use a curriculum framework called The Primary Years Programme (PYP), which is designed around the best of research practices in education.
XLIS is a lively and dynamic school that is truly part of the international community here in Xi’an. My name is Kriss Parker, and on behalf of the entire logistics team and I warmly welcome you to our beautiful school campus in this historic, culturally rich, and modernizing city.
XLIS prides itself on providing a nurturing learning experience for all, ensuring students feel supported, motivated, and free to excel in the paths they so choose. We encourage everyone to be ambitious, to inspire, and to become academically confident to reach their goals and dreams.
Our dedicated teachers, professional administrative and support staff, place great importance on the health and wellbeing of all our students, providing a safe, clean environment, and world-class facilities, allowing them to focus on their studies and to achieve educational excellence.
Our school is an active and social school, with events and workshops for our student and parent community taking place all year round, as we continue to build our community in Xi’an. I welcome all parents, guests, and future students to XLIS, and together we can show you why XLIS is a clear choice for so many families in beautiful Xi’an.

It is our belief that children are capable, curious, and limitless in their creativity. Having a positive image of the child is at the heart of what we believe.
Our students learn through play at XLIS. We believe play to be the most natural form for our students to learn. This may be carefully constructed play in our ECE where our highly professional teachers teach our learning outcomes through play to project-based learning throughout the PYP.
The environment also pays a large part in our philosophy. It is seen as the third teacher and an important source of learning for our entire school community. Our learning spaces have been designed around the philosophy of inquiry and with the student at the centre. Each of our classrooms is designed with 5 essential spaces (makespace4learning.com). There is a display space, community space, private space, presentation space and virtual space. Students can write on the walls or the desks in order to make their thinking visible.
