University Counseling & Support
At XLIS, university counseling is more than submitting applications—it’s about helping IB learners reflect on who they are, explore what they care about, and shape purposeful futures.

Rooted in the values of the IB, our counseling supports students in connecting their strengths and passions with the right opportunities in higher education and beyond.
The journey can be complex, exciting, and sometimes uncertain. We encourage students to approach it with curiosity, courage, and resilience. Explore boldly. Reflect deeply. Trust your voice.
To parents: your support, insight, and patience are invaluable. We are always here to assist—please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, thoughts, or concerns.
Side by side, we’ll help students craft futures that fulfill both their ambitions and their hearts.

Dedicated University Counseling For Students
Our counseling program begins in M4 and builds in depth and intensity through DP2

Our full-time, on-campus university counselor provides consistent, in-school support for students throughout the academic year. They deliver structured lessons and workshops, offer regular one-on-one meetings, and collaborate closely with teachers and parents. Students receive guidance on timelines, application platforms, and identifying universities that best match their academic goals.

Our part-time college planning and essay coaches provide long-term, individualized support tailored to each student’s profile and aspirations. They assist with strategic planning, meaningful profile development, and discovering authentic personal narratives. Coaches work closely with students to refine personal statements and supplemental essays throughout the application process.

At XLIS, we believe students should lead their own university journey, supported by experienced counselors and informed families. Students are encouraged to explore widely, reflect on their goals, and seek feedback proactively. Counselors maintain clear communication with parents and teachers to ensure aligned, supportive guidance at every stage.
XLIS: Guiding Students To Success
XLIS offers comprehensive university counseling support to help families feel informed, confident, and well prepared throughout the university application process. Students receive biweekly counseling classes in DP1 and DP2 and monthly classes in M4 and M5, along with individual academic and personal planning meetings. Families benefit from college essay workshops, BridgeU platform guidance, standardized testing planning, interview and scholarship support, and on-campus university visits. Ongoing communication is maintained through email, school platforms, and regular website and calendar updates, and XLIS proudly serves as an SAT International Test Center with full invigilation services.
Mission
XLIS provides a non-profit education focusing on enabling students to be confident, open-minded global citizens through life-long learning and a sense of community.
Vision
