A job shadow is an opportunity for an individual to spend time with a peer to observe how they work and learn from them. Dr. Sam Mills the Head of School as Sias International School reached out to XLIS requesting such an experience and suggesting a return visit from XLIS in the future. Here is what Dr. Mills wrote about his innovative thinking.
Sias International School
Sias International School, located in Zhengzhou, Henan is a new school. Currently in the process of earning its IB PYP and MYP authorizations, there is much to learn from an established school such as XLIS. Being such a short train ride away, it is a perfect opportunity for SIas IS staff to observe, learn, and reflect on the many strengths of XLIS. Sias IS is eager to better understand what makes XLIS a wonderful learning environment.
Dr. Mills along with twelve of his leadership and operations staff took the short train ride from Zhengzhou to Xi’an. After seeing some of the wonderful sights our city has to offer on March 7th the job shadow began on the morning of the 8th. Each Sias IS member of staff shadowed their peer from XLIS for the day. It was a fabulous learning experience for both schools.
