Dear XLIS Community,
With great pleasure and excitement, I introduce myself to you as the newly appointed Secondary Principal at XLIS.
I have worked at XLIS for six years in the role of the Diploma Coordinator and Individuals and Societies teacher and subject leader. I believe that to provide our students with the best possible academic experience, there should always be a collegial partnership between all stakeholders in a school. I look forward to fostering these relationships and working with teachers, parents, and staff to provide a world-class educational experience for each child.
I have dedicated 32 years to education and have worked with the IB for over 25 years. I have worked in various schools in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, led the MYP and Diploma programmes, and taught French and Individuals and Societies. My years here at XLIS have been exciting and informative. I have developed my understanding of Chinese culture and the challenges that some students face in achieving academic excellence.
I intend to work closely with all of you, especially the parents-to achieve our school’s mission, which is to develop open-minded, confident learners who care for their community. The pandemic years have made us realize that we all need to ensure that we provide our students with an education that will foster well-being, critical thinking, and the ability to think outside the box. School is a partnership between parents and teachers and administration, and I will do my best to ensure that this partnership grows stronger over time.
I look forward to meeting all of you in the next academic year and discuss all the concerns and queries you might have.
