Dear parents,
I hope you are keeping healthy as the seasons change. It is important to exercise caution as it is easy to fall sick. Please let us know how you keep healthy in your busy schedule. We would love to hear from you. It was great to watch some of our young musicians perform in the ‘Silk Road’ music festival.
Some of the events that are coming up are as follows:
- On 13th and 14th of this week, we have our student led and department supported science and math fair. Students have created escape rooms
- On Friday, our secondary students will have their dental check up.
- We have our M5 mock examinations coming up in the last week of March. Ms. Emma, our MYP coordinator has communicated the schedule with the M5 parents
School Trips-At XLIS, we value our students and their behavior. We consider that our students are our ambassadors and hold them to the best possible standards. In our endeavor to ensure that students are capable of making right choices and are reflective of them, we have made some amendments to our Restorative practice policy. As our school trips require students to collaborate within and outside our premises, we would hold them to good behavioral standards. I hope that parents partner with us in helping students adhere to good standards. The amendments that are announced are to ensure that students understand potential consequences of the actions in case of behavioral issues. The amendment is as follows:
Excursions such as Week Without Walls, the DP retreat, Field Trips and the Dragon Cave Challenge are to help our students build relationships and develop important ATL skills. Due to the nature of these trips involving travel and staying over night in different accommodation, the highest level of behaviour is required.
If a student has any of the following issues they will not be permitted to join a trip.
· 5 level one reports
· 3 level two reports or
· 1 level three report.
Sports day– On March 24, we will have our sports day. More will follow on this. I can say that the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated by our athletes is second to none. Our kids have been divided into four different houses based on colour. We look forward to see you.
We look forward to your continued support for making our community better.
