International Day of Peace
The annual community celebration for the International Day of Peace was held on September 20th at XLIS. Community members were wowed by the secondary school band, combined choir, and the dove lighting ceremony to start the day. Then, families celebrated the diversity and culture of the XLIS community by visiting booths from around the world.

PTA Core Member Meeting
On September 23, 2025, XLIS held its monthly PTA meeting chaired by Ms. Chengna Wang. Four key topics were discussed.

University Fair
University Fair, where representatives from various U.S. universities met with students! This was an opportunity to explore study options, ask questions about admissions, and learn about diverse programs. Our students discovered important application deadlines, scholarship opportunities, and received personalized advice directly from universities.

Sports Seasons Began
The XLIS Blue Dragons, our school’s sports teams, started their interscholastic seasons in the month of September by playing in league fixtures against other schools in Xi’an. Teams playing this season include primary school soccer, middle school basketball, and high school volleyball.

Secondary Parent Workshop
Parent workshop on Language and Literature and Language Acquisition-This workshop focused on the salient features of the language and literature and language acquisition curricula and considered seeing the differences between the two and how proficiency is built in the two languages. The workshop also considered procedures for transitions between phases in language acquisition and transfer to language and literature.

XLIS CAS Project Exhibition
A Showcase of Student Growth and Creativity
The CAS Project Exhibition for the Class of 2026, held on September 26, featured 15 student groups presenting uniquely diverse projects. Covering areas from academic research to community service and artistic creation, these initiatives reflected our students’ wide-ranging interests and strong sense of social responsibility. During the exhibition, teachers and students engaged in meaningful interactions, with faculty members attentively listening to each presentation and offering thoughtful feedback. Through a collaborative voting process, four awards—Most Creative Project, Best Organized Project, Most Impactful Contribution, and Best Collaborative Effort—were presented, recognizing student achievement and highlighting the success of CAS in promoting holistic education at XLIS.
