Dear Parents,
I hope this finds you in good health. A new semester and a new year brings in ambitions and prospects of success. As we prepare to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse in 2026, a symbol of remarkable energy, passion, and relentless drive, we are filled with immense hope for our children’s journey ahead. This powerful new year inspires us to nurture their inner fire—the ambition to pursue their goals with courage, the resilience to overcome challenges, and the dedication to achieve meaningful success.
Some of the events that are coming up are:
U-19 ACAMIS Basketball-Our XLIS U19 team will travel to Beijing on Wednesday to play the ACAMIS basketball tournament. We wish them all the best. I am sure that our athletes will give their best to make us proud.
Parent-Teacher conferences
The end of semester reports were sent out on January 23. There were grades (1-7) and comments from all the subject teachers this time. As a follow up to the reports, we are having the parent-teacher conferences.
I am pleased to invite M1-M5 parents on campus on Wednesday, January 28th for the parent-teacher conferences starting at 8:30 A.M. It is a non-class day and will be held in the small gym on the 2nd floor. We encourage you to take this opportunity to accompany your child and engage in discussion with your child’s subject teachers regarding the learning journey at XLIS.
For DP parents, starting this year, we are organizing the parent-teacher conference in an online format over several days to make this more effective. Your child’s subject teachers would have communicated with you regarding signing up for a time slot and details of online meetings.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to engage in discussion with your child’s subject teachers regarding the learning journey at XLIS. Please feel free to reach out to me/your child’s homeroom teacher, if you have a query.
Work experience for M4 and M5-Thanks for your support in helping your children fill in the forms. We will be sharing further updates on this having collated all the data. We will continue to support the children in finding the best possible opportunities that align with interests and future career pathways.
