Plaque Awarding at XLIS for the“Xi’an Chinese Language Education Base”
”The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.”

On January 21st, the award ceremony for the “Xi’an Chinese Language Education Base” was held at Liangjiatan International School. Leaders from the United Front Work Department of the Xi’an Municipal Committee, Xi’an Returned Overseas Chinese Federation Party, and Mass Affairs Department of High-Tech Zone, joined our school’s senior management team and staff representatives, for this prestigious event.
Mr. Yun Xiaodong, Member of Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, presented the plaque and remarked, “Xi’an Liangjiatan International School is indeed highly relevant for the ancient city of Xi’an. This is not an ordinary school, it is a small United Nations, a platform for the collision of different cultures and ideas. It plays a crucial role in spreading friendship and Chinese culture for Xi’an and the local international community. By awarding XLIS the title of ‘Xi’an Chinese Language Education Base,’ we hope to disseminate Chinese language, aesthetics, and national characteristics to the world.”
Accepting this weighty honor, Dr. Liu, the Head of School, expressed that this not only represents the Municipal United Front Work Department’s recognition of our school’s over two decades of dedication to international education but also marks a new era of responsibility for our school in telling China’s stories aptly, promoting the international dissemination of Chinese culture, and fulfilling the mission of Chinese language education.
Since its establishment, XLIS has consistently adhered to an open and inclusive educational philosophy, integrating the strengths of Chinese and Western education, fostering a multicultural educational environment, and forging a distinctive path in international education. In the future, our school will seize the opportunity of being designated as the “Xi’an Chinese Language Education Base” to fully leverage our advantages in international education. We will ensure that Chinese culture reaches the hearts of more international students through classroom immersion, activity dissemination, and interpersonal exchanges. Furthermore, we remain committed to the goal of “providing education that satisfies the people,” taking “serving Xi’an’s international development” as our responsibility. We strive to build XLIS into a benchmark international school rooted in China yet influential worldwide, contributing our full strength to the promotion of Chinese culture, friendly exchanges between China and other countries, and Xi’an’s high-level opening-up to the world.
