On Monday May 29th , the M1 students at XLIS showcased an incredible summative activity that celebrated the diversity of games from around the world! From the exciting Jokgu from South Korea to the acrobatic Sepak Takraw from Malaysia, and the lively Palla from Italy and many more, our students demonstrated the power of games in fostering global interactions and relationships.
The Statement of Inquiry for this interdisciplinary unit is: “Games and sports provide opportunities for balanced interactions and relationships between diverse cultures.”
Through this interactive event, our students not only displayed their skills but also highlighted the key concept of global interactions and relationships. They passionately explained the origins, rules, and cultural significance of each game, bridging the gap between different cultures and promoting understanding and appreciation. As we witnessed the spirited competitions and friendly exchanges, it became evident that games and sports serve as a universal language that unites people from various backgrounds. The joy and camaraderie shared among the participants transcended borders and showcased the beauty of our diverse world coming together as one. We applaud our talented M1 students for their efforts in organizing this remarkable event that highlighted the importance of embracing cultural diversity. Let’s continue to celebrate our global connections through games and sports, fostering balanced interactions and relationships that pave the way for a harmonious world!
