Parent Email Week 22

To our lovely XLIS community, 

I hope that the new year holiday has rejuvenated you and brought happiness and deserved family time to everyone. We are entering probably our busiest time of the semester now with plenty of teaching and learning. We continue to strive in providing the children with the best of education and support that we can possibly try to give. We request your continued support. Coming up over the next couple of weeks

Parent Workshop on Thursday 13^th February. 

Following up on PR’s communication with parents for M4-DP2, we will have our parent workshop on the Extended essay in the DP and the e-portoflio in the MYP.  The Extended essay and e-portfolio being mandatory requirements for obtaining the Diploma and the MYP certificate respectively is of prime importance. The session will focus on how skills needed for these components are dealt with. Our team will also provide guidance on how parents can support their children at home for this.

ACAMIS basketball

XLIS will be hosting the ACAMIS green division basketball starting this Thursday until Saturday. Our very own Dragon’s lair will be the venue for many a battle that would be fought in the three days. We will have teams coming all the way from Changchun, Hangzhou and Shanghai to compete in this prestigious event.

Early release PD– As part of our continued plan to develop literacy in all the subjects in the secondary, we would engage in a PD on February 26. This is part of a whole school initiative and that day would be an early release for the students.

DP2 mock examinations– Starting next week, our DP2 students who would be our graduating class of 2025 will start their mock examinations. This is an important examination for our students to prepare them well for the final examinations. DP2 parents, please take care of your children at home. Please ensure that they eat, sleep and study well at home. Feel free to reach out to me for any queries that you may have.
