Dear Parents,
Hope this email finds you well. We have just over a month before we go in for our summer break. I am sure you are excited about the break and looking forward to some well deserved rest and travel. We look forward to seeing you at the summer fair on May 17th, which is a community celebration. We hope you can come and enjoy the day with your kids.
Our M5 and DP2 examinations are running smoothly and we are close to finishing the examinations. Our DP2 students will have their graduation ceremony on May 23 and our M5 graduation will be on June 10th.
Most or all of our summative assessments for M1-M4 would be finishing off in the week of May 19-23. DP1 will have their end of year assessments from May 26-30. The schedules will be sent out by the end of the week by the homeroom teachers.
Work experience for M4 and M5-Our M4 and M5 students will do their work experience in the week of May 26-30. This would be a wonderful opportunity for students to get ideas on how the world works. Students will be interning with different organizations, mostly based on what preferences they have indicated. Please reach out to the following teachers if you have questions on the work experience.
Ms. Bella is in charge of the M5 work experience and you can connect with her on her email, bella.yang@xalis.com
Ms. Emma and Mr. Sunil are in charge of the M4 work experience. You can connect with them on their emails, emma.yang@xalis.com and sunil.pusluri@xalis.com
Classes for the 2025-2026 year – A gentle reminder that May 23rd would be the last date for receiving any requests on possibly letting me know 2-3 students your child would like to be in a class with, I will try to ensure that they will be with at least 1. After this time the classes will be sorted and changes will not be possible.
Please do not send requests for specific teachers, as I am not able to assign students to teachers based on parent requests. I am only seeking feedback on peer relationships and believe that having a friend in the class is important for children to feel happy and build responsible relationships at school.
Week without walls- More information will continue to go through to you from the homeroom teachers. Our risk assessments are completed and preparations are being made for making the experience for your child a memorable one. Please find the information letter attached.
The parent briefing for Secondary Week Without Walls will take place on Wednesday, 21st May from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the Blue Dragon Theatre.
Parents who wish to attend must register as school visitors through the WeChat app in advance.
Students from M1 to DP1 will bring home a letter this week with detailed information about Week Without Walls. You are kindly asked to read it carefully together with your child and sign the final page.
Ensuring every student’s safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation. Please feel free to reach out to me.
Regards,
Shameek Ghosh
