Dear Parents,
Good morning! I hope you are all doing well! It was an absolute pleasure to see many of you at our “Joy to the World” Christmas Concert and Market on Saturday. I love how our school events bring our community together. A big thank you to Mr. Rambaud, Mr. Parker, Mr. Kim and Ms. Yeom for their extended efforts to make the event so wonderful.
December can be a difficult time as we look forward to the Christmas Holiday as many children and family members may be getting sick. In addition, the weather is turning colder this week. With only 4 school days left until the holiday, I am wishing you all warmth and good health.
This week we are having a little bit of fun at XLIS to add some Christmas Cheer to the week leading up to the holidays. Students are encouraged to participate each day with a different dress up item:
Please note: Thursday and Friday have been switched, so Thursday will be Christmas Pajamas and Friday will be Christmas Sweater
These kinds of events can help to bring our community closer together. The vision of XLIS is to lead education through innovation and a student-centered, community-driven approach. We are always keeping this vision at the forefront of all that we do.
Thank you to the parents who have signed up for our Parent Workshop this Wednesday It will be led by Ms. Julia Fan (P6 homeroom and upper primary lead teacher) and Ms. Nicola Crossfield (the PYP Coordinator). They will introduce parents to Learning through Inquiry, a cornerstone of IB education. They will also give parents some tips on how to encourage inquiry at home.
This is my last email before the Christmas holiday. I wish you all a safe, healthy and joyful holiday season with your family. For those of you travelling, safe travels and we will see you back at XLIS on January 6th.
As always, you may reply to this email to let me know how things are going.
Warm wishes,
