Dear Parents,
Hello! We are nearing the end of August ~ September and Autumn are just around the corner! By now, your children have settled well into the routines of the classroom and have started diving into their first Units of Inquiry (UOI).
We place high value on parent communication and to be sure that our parent community is well-informed of what is happening in the classroom. You can find our Grade Level Year Plans on our school website here:
https://xalis.com/primary-school/xlis-primary-school-year-long-plans/
In addition, you will receive weekly updates from the homeroom teacher via Seesaw about the learning that has been happening in the classroom. Please reach out to the homeroom teacher, myself, or Ms. Maria at any time with questions about the curriculum and learning in the classroom.
Also, we will be starting our Parent Workshop series for this semester this week, starting with Thursday morning, a workshop for our Early Years parents to introduce them to the Reggio Emilia Approach and the importance of play in children’s development.
Please watch for the invitations sent by our PR team to register for the workshop for your grade level from now until January.
Coming up in September is an important day for XLIS as well as the global community, the International Day of World Peace. Please see the below two links to learn more about this important day and have conversations with your child at home about why this is an important day for reflection on the world today.

Over the next few weeks, our students will be learning more about peace in the world and why it is important. We hope you can join us on September 21st for our school event, with performances, speeches and artwork prepared by our students.
I hope that your child has enjoyed their first few weeks and that they feel safe and happy at school. As always, I love to hear from you, so please contact me at any time with your thoughts or questions.
