Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well. Welcome back to school after the Christmas break. We are really excited to see the children back on campus. Keep warm in this cold weather. On that note, our Chinese new year celebrations are on February 10th followed by holidays from February 14 – March 1. We officially resume school on March 2.
Students leaving and joining XLIS-I would like to thank all the families who have been at school and leaving at the end of the semester/end of the school year. Thanks for your trust and support towards your child and every other child’s education at XLIS. I also wish to extend a warm welcome to the new members joining XLIS. I am sure that you would play a key part in the continued growth and development of our community.
Reports and parent teacher conferences-We will have our end of semester reports coming through on January 23 followed by the parent teacher conferences on January 28. There would be a slight change in format that would be coming through to you on a separate email. Subject teachers would send out the sign up sheets through Managebac. Hence, you are requested to kindly check Managebac carefully. Parent teacher conference day on January 28th is a non-student day.
Work experience for M4 and M5– Thanks for your support in responding to surveys for the M4 and M5 work experience. We will be sharing further updates on this including a proposal form that students have to complete and return to us. Parents of M4 and M5 would need to sit with their children and ensure that the proposal form is completed properly.
Attendance at school- It is important to send your children to school regularly. Prolonged absence from school can lead to impacts on academic performance, reduced community involvement and school refusal behavior. We encourage you to reach out to us with any concerns you might be having. We are always ready to support our families.
Stay healthy and keep warm,
Shameek
