Dear Parents,
I hope you are doing well and had a quiet restful time after the Spring break. There are some important things coming up this month and until the end of the year.
IB examinations
DP examinations– The final DP exams start on April 27th, which is a week from now. We request DP 2 parents to keep in touch with us with regards to any questions you might have or matters you need to discuss with us. I would recommend you to reach out our DP coordinator, Ms. Eva Liu (eva.liu@xalis.com) on this.
MYP e-Assessments– Our MYP examinations are starting on May 4th. As May 4th is the public holiday and a non-school day, so parents and students need to arrange your own transportation to school to attend the eAssessment. MYP Students need to join their exam room at 12:30 pm with the laptop, as we have to deliver the paper for you in advance.
Work experience for M4 and M5– Thanks for your support so far on this. At this stage, we have gathered all the interest and are in communication with you and with the potential work experience providers to work towards ensuring that the children have a fruitful experience learning. Our teachers have currently reached out to the organizations that our students will work with and are continuing to communicate with them on finalizing logistics. I would request your support in reinforcing the importance of such experiences at home.
Classes for the 2026-2027 year – We are at the time of the year when we are starting to consider classes for the next academic year. At XLIS, we try to well balance genders and nationalities etc. Our secondary teachers and myself will start now taking notes, discuss and put students into different classes. I am happy to receive feedback from parents about students your son or daughter gets along well with and would like to be in a class with. You may send this to on or before May 22nd. After this date, the classes will be allocated and changes will not be possible. If you could let me know 2-3 students your child would like to be in a class with, I can ensure they will be with at least 1.
Please note, I will not be accepting any special requests for teachers. I am only asking for feedback on peer relationships. Thank you for your understanding.
Events
Saturday, May 16- XLIS Whole School Summer Fair, 9:00-12:00
Mr. Dwyer will be sending out more information on the summer fair.
We look to your continued support and cooperation to strengthen our community.
Have a great week ahead.
Shameek
