Marvin, a 12-year-old boy, has been studying at Xi’an Liangjiatan International School since ECE and is currently a MYP1 student.
Poor self-control and time management, moodiness, and addiction to the Internet and digital devices are some of the growing challenges that many teenagers are facing. However, Marvin is totally different; he is always smiling and has a wide range of hobbies as well as self-management skills.
In addition to academic learning, Marvin likes playing guitar and tennis, swimming, reading, etc. in his spare time. Since the age of five, he has been playing tennis six days a week, regardless of the weather conditions. Over the past seven years, playing tennis has taught him the importance of giving it his all to successfully hit every thrown ball.
As Marvin entered middle school, the pressure of academic learning gradually increased. To balance both academic learning and personal interests and hobbies, he needed more self-discipline and efficiency, which challenged his self-management skills. It was not an easy task for Marvin at first. Having benefited from the IB education system and his parents nurturing philosophy since he was a little kid, Marvin is now able to offer some effective advice to his classmates and friends who are facing the same difficulties.
How did the transformation happen? How did Marvin deal with the problem of growing up when his nature encountered it? I hope we can figure it out by watching the video.
