The “Foreign Expert’s Book House” is a project organized by the Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology under the guidance of the Bureau of Foreign Promotion of the Ministry of Propaganda of the People’s Republic of China, which aims to provide a convenient reading environment and loan service for foreign experts, foreign friends and international students in China, and to demonstrate a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive view of China for foreign experts in our country.
The first batch of “Foreign Expert’s Houses” in Shaanxi Province was listed on April 1st, 2021, and four places namely, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Northwestern University, Xi’an Foreign Studies University, and Xi’an Market of China International Talent Market, were awarded the license. Xi’an Liangjiatan International School, was part of the second group of foreign expert’s bookstore units selected by the Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts, serves as an important window and platform for foreign experts in XLIS to carry out science and technology outreach work, and targets to let foreign experts know more about China through this great carrier and enable them to tell good Chinese stories as well as share their Chinese voice. The bookhouse is set up in the library of our campus and currently has nearly 2,000 books in more than ten languages, such as Chinese, English, Korean, Japanese, and Russian, covering diversified fields such as politics, economy, culture, diplomacy, etc.,
The establishment of the “Foreign Expert’s Book House” will open a window for foreign experts working in our school to better and more comprehensively understand China and Chinese culture, support bridging the communication, and attract more overseas high-level talents to come to Shaanxi for innovation and entrepreneurship, which can strongly contribute to the further construction of innovative Shaanxi Province.
