On December 14th, XLIS annual New Year Concert was held successfully on campus. At this time of bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new, over 1,000 guests from 54 countries and regions gathered at the Blue Dragon Theater to celebrate the school’s numerous achievements and express new goals for the year 2025.
Mr. William Chen stated during his speech: “Xi’an Hi-Tech Zone is currently one of the largest and best high-tech industrial parks in China, with technology-based industries such as electric vehicle manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, software, semiconductors, and equipment manufacturing as the mainstay. Some of these industries are already at the forefront of the world. Our vision is to build this area into a world-leading science and technology park. Education is an important cornerstone of the development of the Xi’an Hi-Tech Zone, and the development of this school echoed the development of Xi’an Hi-Tech Zone. Under the leadership of Dr. Liu, and the joint efforts of all the working staff and the faculty, Xi’an Liangjiatan International School has become one of the best international schools of the country. Our vision for this school is in the near future, with our joint efforts, we’ll make Liangjiatan International School one of the best international schools in the world.”
Dr. Liu, the Head of XLIS, together with the senior leadership team and the new chairman of the school PTA, warmly welcomed representatives from various embassies and consulates in Xi’an, Leaders of Administrative Committee of the Xi’an Hi-Tech Zone，as well as teachers and parents, and expressed their sincere gratitude for their support. Mr. William Chen, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee Member and Director of the Administrative Committee of the Xi’an Hi-Tech Zone, and the consuls general of various embassies and consulates in Xi’an presented New Year gifts, including learning and sports materials to the students.
The theme of this year’s New Year’s Concert is “Joy to the World!”. The performance included not only children’s choir and dance performances from the primary school, but also outstanding performances by the middle school bands, choirs, violinists, and orchestras. During the concert, the school provided visitors with a variety of delicious snacks from different countries, and the Secondary Student Council also organized a charity sale, with all proceeds going to charitable organizations.
2025 will be the 22nd year since XLIS was originally founded, and it has been through the relentless efforts of numerous outstanding international educators that the school has grown from its initial enrollment of 2 students and 4 teachers to its status as an international school with nearly 800 students and teachers from 54 countries around the world. Currently, XLIS is the only international school in Northwest China to have been ranked in the Top 25 of the the “Hurun Education Top International School in China”, not only as the first and only international school in Northwest China to have received authorization for the IB continuum from PYP to DP, but also as a school that holds authorization as an SAT and AP test center, a member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a member of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS), and a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS). XLIS is also the only school in Northwest China to have hosted IBAP workshops and the ACAMIS international youth sports games.
