Students and Teachers were invited to perform in Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum.
On Thursday, November 6, 2025, the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum was held in Xi’an, the capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi sent congratulatory letters extending their best wishes for the event’s success. More than 300 guests, including heads of international organizations and media institutions from 40 countries and regions, as well as representatives from relevant embassies in China, attended the event and witnessed the release of multiple achievements in media cooperation.
Dr. Liu, Head of School, and Ms. Echo Zhao, Director of Brand Development, were invited to attend the opening ceremony. International students from XLIS, representing diverse countries and regions, opened the event with a memorable performance. With the traditional Chinese gongshou greeting (拱手礼), they warmly welcomed distinguished guests from around the world. Their poised movements reflected the millennia-old civilization of the ancient capital Xi’an and the core Chinese value of hospitality, while weaving in the diverse perspectives of youth from different nations. The performance embodied the Global South’s vision of “consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits,” and demonstrated an open, inclusive attitude toward mutual learning among civilizations.

This appearance was more than a cultural display, it was a vivid example of youth participation in global governance. Through song, our students transcended language barriers to share Xi’an’s enduring cultural heritage, and by offering Roujiamo (肉夹馍) pendants, symbols of the city’s culinary tradition, as tokens of connection, our student helped foster dialogue and understanding among civilizations in a sincere and creative way. Such gestures help lay the foundation for a more inclusive and equitable framework for global governance.
Dr. Liu stated in an interview, “Media serves as a key force in breaking down cognitive barriers, while international schools are hubs of multicultural convergence. Xi’an Liangjiatan International School should act as a bridge integrating education and communication, transforming genuine interactions within the campus into cross-cultural understanding that can be felt by a broader audience, enabling families worldwide to comprehend the real China.”
