Acceptances Scholarships to Top Universities.
It’s the time of the year again when our graduates receive the results of their Diploma Programme. The academic year 2021-2022 has turned out to be another exciting year for XLIS, with a 100% pass rate and a perfect score of 45 from our model student, Subin Bang.
Subin has been a student at XLIS for four years and has displayed the work habits of a model IB student. We are very proud of her; these scores will open the doors to elite universities worldwide.
We should also commend all our students who have shown grit, resilience and perseverance in the past years of uncertainties. The IB scores are just an indication of their success but what is most impressive is the growth we, as a team of teachers, have witnessed in our students. Our school has a high population of ESL students, and to succeed in the Diploma Programme indicates our young students’ hard work and commitment.
We are proud that all our students have scored bonus points as a result of producing excellent Extended Essays and Theory of knowledge assessments.
A message to our May 2022 cohort from the DP Coordinator:
‘My heartiest congratulations to you all-you have proved that you can do it- You have survived the IB. You made it through two very tough years of work, knowledge, and thought, not to mention CAS, TOK and one hefty Extended Essay. You have proved that no matter what comes your way, you will persevere and succeed. I hope that the experiences in the DP have forged strength of character, the ability to think ahead, and the readiness to meet the challenges of this world. Good luck on your next journey! Do join our Alumni group!”
I would also like to congratulate all the DP teachers for their hard work in ensuring that each student received the support and attention needed to be successful. As the saying goes, behind every successful student is a ‘caring, competent and collaborative teacher” – our team of DP teachers reflect these qualities and spend a lot of time and effort caring and working with the students. Your hard work has paid off.
Some testimonies from our graduates:
Subin Bang- our perfect scorer: When I opened the results, I couldn’t believe I got full grades and was overjoyed. I’m more than satisfied with my results, especially as they were much higher than my predicted grades and considering how I felt after the exams. I am super happy that my endeavours throughout two years got rewarded with such excellent results. The past two years, particularly the last couple of months heading to the exams, have certainly been the most challenging time of my life. Stressed, tired, overwhelmed…
Nevertheless, I could never forget the moments with our DP2 classmates and the pieces of joy that we had from our classes. I’m going to London this September to study pharmacy, which is known to be a hard subject. So I can’t tell that I’m not worried at all. But at the same time, I’m excited to start my new journey in a new place.
I am looking forward to discovering more potential buried inside myself in university!
Yeonwoo Shin– I am delighted with my grade. It’s much higher than what I expected. The most impressive moment was when I panicked at the school library while preparing for exams. This was the best moment for DP because I felt the most alive ever in my life. I’m truly ready. I’m excited to study the major I have longed to learn from long ago. I want to continue what I have done so far. I have been trying my best from MYP4 to now. I hope that I will not leave any regret behind.
It was my pleasure to talk about life in DP. Thank you!
Dowon Kim: I was quite surprised that I somehow received the exact grade as my predicted grade. Considering the input-to-output ratio, I am quite satisfied. But feel I could have ground more time. DP passed by so quickly that I don’t remember much, but the highlights were the last three months until graduation. Yes, the IB curriculum prepared me for the reports and essays that are required in the universities.
Keep the mindset I had when preparing for the final exams.
Linyao Li: I feel very grateful and satisfied with my grades. Two years of DP had been like an adventurous jungle; students all have their impetus pushing them to survive and conquer. My highlight would be the very comfortable exam room provided. The AC, kind teachers, and the aroma diffuser! Despite not feeling completely ready, I think the skills that IB taught us have prepared us to be much more confident than other students who do not have much experience writing academic papers. My current expectations and goals are to live a healthy lifestyle and to stay positive as I further voyage in university. Precisely, I am expecting myself to adopt a healthy sleeping schedule and a regular workout plan.
