01 – Chinese New Year Celebration
Wednesday, 13th January
The 2021 XLIS Chinese New Year Celebration was jointly organized by the Primary School and the Secondary School, through a series of wonderful activities such as the Chinese Speech Contest, a Calligraphy Show and a Chinese Theater Festival. Students not only have improved their ability to publicly express themselves but have also gained a deeper understanding of Chinese characters, as well as the importance of Chinese language.
02 – PTA Core Member Meeting
Thursday, 14th January
03 – Chang’an Cup-International senior high school basketball tournament
15th -16th January
During the two-day tournament, we saw eleven teams from eight schools competing for the championship in boys’ and girls’ divisions. Finally, the boys from the XIS Warriors won the first prize. The first prize for girl’s group went to the SSFBC Unicorns.
Primary School Events
01 – Early Years Open House-IB Immersion Experience
Saturday,9th January
More than 20 international families had been to XLIS to experience an authentic IB classroom. The primary academic principal and early years educators from Xi’an Liangjiatan International School had specially designed an IB PYP, early years’ experience for the children!

Friday, 15th January
Semester 1 Reports had been released on Managebac.
03 – Parent/Teacher Conference
Wednesday, 20th January
Parents met with teachers online to discuss the semester 1 report.

02 – DP Course Selection
Friday, 15th January
MYP5 students and parents attended a special event run by the DP Coordinator, Jaimala Quinlan and DP teachers and University Guidance Counselor, Kate Yu. Students are making choices for the next 2 years and the road to university.
03 – Secondary Professional Development Day
18th-19th January
The secondary teachers and leaders took part in an amazing 2-day professional development where they came up with transformational learning goals for students and they shared “portrait of a graduate”, their vision of what attributes an XLIS graduate should hance.
04 – Three-Way Conferences
Wednesday, 20th January
Parents and Students sat down together online to discuss learning with the child at the center of the conversation. The attendance of this event was excellent.
