AI-empowered Concert

The AI-empowered Music Concert will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 9:20 to 10:10 at the Blue Dragon Theatre of Xi’an Liangjiatan International School, marking the opening performance of the Chinese New Year Concert. Featuring two distinguished professors from the Piano Department of the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, this inspiring event will invite students to experience the exciting fusion of music, creativity, and technology.

Professional Development

Artificial Intelligence is a tool which can help our students gather information and analyze data easily. During these two days Dr. Jennifer Chang Wathall and her colleague Nicloe Thorson will come to teach us from Dr. Wathall’s new book AI Powered Pedagogy. We will learn how to guide our students to use AI whild also understanding the ethical implications of the tools. School administrators will also learn how to use tools to streamline their work.

Chinese New Year’s Holiday

From Saturday, February 14th to Sunday, March 1st, the school will be closed for the Chinese New Year Holiday. We wish you all a safe and wonderful Chinese New Year.

Primary Chinese New Year’s Celebration

At that time, we will hold the “Galloping Horse Welcomes Spring” fair for all PYP students. The main venue will be the large gymnasium, where the event will be organized in the form of booths, including fun Chinese knowledge quizzes, hands-on experiences of New Year customs, traditional festival games, and tasting of traditional holiday foods. Most notably, we have invited student representatives from XLIS’s partner school Xi’an Gaoxin No. 29 Primary School to join our student representatives in performing folk dances such as stilt-walking and yangko dance. We look forward to this vibrant and exciting New Year event bringing you an unforgettable festive experience!

Secondary Chinese New Year’s Celebration

Clouds are churned, the world is spanned. It is time to witness the spark where language meets thought! In the morning our Chinese learners take the stage in the 8th Chinese Speech Contest,” a thrilling showcase of more than just linguistic skill. It’s a deep dive into cultural exploration. Hear them unravel the wisdom of Spring Festival customs and share heartfelt stories of personal growth and cultural encounters. Dive into fun! Try hands-on cultural Heritage crafts in our workshops, then play interactive games with lively NPCs (student role-players). Complete challenges, collect Yinpiao, and win wonderful prizes. A playful cultural adventure awaits!
