The first Chinese Faculty Meeting in the 2nd Semester of 2021-2022 was held on Monday, February 21st, at XLIS.
As we reflected on the past year, we concluded that 2021 was a year of hard work against all odds as well as a year when we surpassed ourselves with many achievements. According to the requirement of the “Implementation Plan for the Comprehensive Assessment of Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Schools for 2021 of Xi’an High-Tech Zone”, nine Chinese department heads at XLIS presented their work summaries effectively. They did not only share the gains and growth of their departments in the past year, but also reflected on their shortcomings and set new goals for 2022.
In addition, our school also achieved excellent results while implementing strict epidemic prevention and control measures, and received full recognition from the higher authorities. We firmly believe this could not have been achieved without the successful deployment of the epidemic prevention and control protocol by the school’s senior leadership team. Meanwhile, efficient communication, accurate reporting, and resolute execution of our staff during the pandemic were exemplary. During the meeting, staff who performed outstandingly during these challenging times were awarded with Advanced Individual Certificates of recognition for their efforts. The details are listed below:
Teaching Assistant Affairs Department:
Shevon Hu, Vicky Wang, Tian Zhang, Olivia Zhu, Sally Wang
Secondary School:
Eunice Hou, Carrie Quan, Jasmin Sun, Momo Li, Sky Du
Admin Team:
Shanshan Chen (Health Center Officer), Simon Wang (HR Officer)
Meanwhile, Dr. Liu, the Head of School at XLIS, reported on last year’s school work focusing on major achievements and areas for potential growth at the school.
Despite the difficulties in recruiting teachers and enrolling foreign students due to the suspension of visas for foreign experts during the global epidemic that XLIS faced during 2021, Dr. Liu led our entire staff to overcome a variety of obstacles and successfully complete the annual target. This was achieved by taking a firm stance in improving the effectiveness of XLIS’ educational management, controlling the epidemic, promoting a stable order at the workplace, recruiting teachers, enrolling students, focusing on the professional development of teachers, ensuring the steady improvement of the curriculum, furthering global campus management, upgrading the safety and logistics services, promoting cultural exchanges between China and abroad, and strengthening the international education community.
The year of 2022 is not only the “acceleration year” for the construction of strength, science and technology innovation, quality and wellness for the Hi-tech Zone, but also the 27th year of educational development of the Hi-tech zone. With new tasks and goals set for this new semester, XLIS aims to improve the quality and efficiency of the school’s development plan, strengthen the development of Xi’an’s Hi-tech Zone, and make solid contributions to the global community.
