02. School Bus Safety Drill – Tuesday, 8th November
All of the students who take the school bus to get to and from school will participate in the annual school bus safety drill that will be held at the school on November 8th. Because accidents can occur at any time, it is essential for our students to be familiar with the procedure for evacuating a school bus in the event of an emergency, as this is required by the health and safety policies of our school. For this reason, conducting safety drills for the safe evacuation of students from school buses is an essential activity, since students need to be familiar with what to do in the event of an emergency, we need to prepare them for any situation in advance by conducting safety drills.
03. Professional Development Days
Monday, 14th November-Tuesday, 15th November
Primary School teachers will be engaged in an IB Workshop on Language Acquisition. Secondary Teachers will follow 2 workshops depending of the programme they teach and their preference. Middle Years Programme will attend the MYP: Creating authentic units in the MYP. Diploma Teachers will attend the Theory of Knowledge across subjects. These two days will be very valuable in the professional development of the staff.
Primary School Events
01. Literacy and Culture Week
Monday, 31th October – Friday, 4th November
We have celebrated literacy week in the primary school for the past eight years. It is one of the significant events in primary to promote a love of reading, highlight various fun and engaging ways to enhance language teaching and learning and educate parents about the value of reading at home. Our tradition is to start the week with Pajama Day and then throughout the week, classes will do various activities appropriate to their grade level. One of the highlights in the past has been buddy reading with MYP or other primary classes. To end the week, the Friday is “Book Character Day” where the students are encouraged to dress up as a character from a story. It is a lot of fun to see the creative ways the students represent the characters from books!
02. Assemblies – Fridays
Each Friday one of our homeroom classes has the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning! This is a student-led event that is supported by the teachers. The parents of the class that is presenting will be invited to join the audience (as long as the epidemic prevention situation allows).

I had sent a form to parents and I would like all M1-3 parents to complete this form so that we know the number. There will be no accommodation for students who do not join the Week Without Walls. This is a learning experience and we expect all students to attend.
