01. Progress Report
On October 21st, we uploaded your child’s first report card for the 2022-2023 academic year to Managebac. Please log-in to the platform to download this document. If you need assistance, you may reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher or TA to help guide you. This is called a “Progress Report” as it gives you a summary of your child’s learning so far this year. All of the Ontario Learning Outcomes that have been completed through the Unit of Inquiry, in Specialist Classes and Mandarin were listed with a number from 1 – 3 assigned to it. A 1 represents an emerging understanding of the skill or content. A 2 means that the child is developing his or her understanding and a score of 3 means that the child is able to demonstrate the outcome without support. One of the most important parts of this report card is the section on ATL skills (Approaches to Learning). In this section, the homeroom teacher have written a comment describing your child’s progress in important skills such as communication, social skills, their ability to problem solve or conduct research.
02. Parent-Teacher Online Conferences
The Parent-Teacher conference was provided as an opportunity for the teacher and family member to discuss the students learning through the first 2 months of school. There was no class for students on that day. Our Single Subject and Mandarin teachers also met parents online.
03. Blue Dragon Swimming Competition
The 3rd XLIS Blue Dragon Cup Primary Swimming Championship was held on 27th October at the Blue Dragon Swimming Pool. The events were P2 – P3 float 25m freestyle, P4 – P6 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke. Swimming is one of the important activities to promote the healthy growth of children. They can play to their hearts’ content, experience the happiness of growth and feel the charm of sports through the swimming competition.
