Dear Parents,
I hope you are keeping well and getting ready for the winter break. I am excited as I will be going back to visit my family for the first time in five years. We had a lot to celebrate in XLIS this week.
PTA
I am so grateful for the parent-teacher association we have at XLIS. They give so much to our school. Our meetings are always constructive and mission-focused and this past week they turned our school into a winter wonderland. Thank you so much for all you do.
IBAP Event
The IBO has selected XLIS to host its first scheduled Asia Pacific event outside of the eastern region of China. We are so grateful that they trust us to host this. All the details of the event may be found on the official IB website here. There will be around 22 workshops organized by the IB office in Singapore. The IB office is expecting educators mainly from China but also some from neighboring Asian countries, as well as the US as some of the workshops are being delivered in Chinese. It is difficult to find workshops in Chinese in the US.
SanQin Friendship Award
This past week The Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government honored our school by giving me the SanQin Friendship Award. I see this award as a recognition of the work of the entire XLIS community. I sincerely thank each of our staff and parents for helping us receive this recognition from the provincial government.
