Dear Parents,
I have always been a firm believer that we are achieving our mission at XLIS, but I have also felt that our vision was too aspirational. This year, however, thanks to our community I am starting to believe that we can, “lead education through innovation and a student-centered, community-driven approach together.”
Strategic Plan Update
Three times a year I meet with each head of department to check on our progress in our annual action plan. I am delighted to be able to share that all of our goals have been achieved or are on track. Our three overarching goals are:
- language acquisition
- curriculum alignment
- coherent organization
- parent partnerships
We are preparing for a synchronized WASC/IB visit in 2026. This will be an opportunity for our community to come together and identify where we will be going in the next five years. I look forward to working with you on this in the years to come.
American Heart Association CPR AED Training
Earlier this month Mr. Zhang our PTA chairman organized some fantastic first-aid training for our PHE teachers and coaches. Here is a link to the training. This course equipped us to have the knowledge and skills to intervene to save someone’s life. I would like to recommend this training to any business or organization wishing to provide life-saving skills to their employees. For more details please visit this website or scan the attached QR code. The assessment was rigorous, both practical and written assessments. I would love for everybody to have these life-saving skills.
Finally, I love to hear from you. If you would like to schedule a time to meet with me, please reply to this email. Also if you have the time to reply and tell me how you and your child are doing, I would greatly appreciate it. I love to hear from you. I wish you and your family a restful upcoming Spring break.
Sincerely,
Brian Lalor (M.Ed.)
Deputy Head of School
