Whole School Events
1. Staff PD and Early Release – Wednesday, 6th September
Wednesday will be an early release day for students with buses leaving campus at 2:30. XLIS staff will be leading different sessions for other staff members.
2. Start of ECAs – Thursday, 7th September
XLIS proudly announces the start of its exciting ECAs on September 7th, 2023! The ECA booklet and registration code have been sent to you by email. Please contact our Head of ECAs, Mr. Lee Li, at xlis.eca@xalis.com if you have any questions about the program.
3. U. N. International Day of Peace – Thursday, 21st September
· Theme: “Our Ambition for the Global Goals!”
· Deadline for submissions: Late submissions will be considered if submitted before Sept. 8th, 2023.
Schedule:
13:00 – Whole School Assembly (bleachers, and song and march on track)
13:20 – Performances, speeches, and Art Gallery at various venues (more details will be shared soon)
15:20 – Event finishes (line up for buses and parent pick-up)

4. PTA Core Members Meeting – Tuesday, 26th September
The September PTA Monthly Meeting for 2023-2024 academic year schedules on September 26th, all PTA members are invited to participate, main agendas will be shared out soon.
5. Mid Autumn Festival Holiday & National Day Holiday
29th September – Sunday, 8th October
Our school’s Mid-Autumn Festival Holiday and National Day Holiday is observed from the 29th September to the 8th of October, 2023. We kindly remind you there is no school during these dates. School will begin again on Monday the 9th of October, 2023.

1. Assemblies – Fridays
Each Friday one of our homeroom classes has the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning! This is a student-led event that is supported by the teachers. The parents of the class that is presenting will be invited to join the audience.

2. Open Day
Parents from ECEA to P6 will be invited to join the Open Day in September according to following schedule, school Management Team will lead to do the school tour and experience the daily school life our students have on campus. Each grade parents will all have the access to the Open Day at different time, we’ll send out invitation to different year-level parents one week in advance.

Secondary School Events
1. Parent Workshop (for MYP5) – Thursday, 14th September
Our M5 students have started their culminating project for the MYP which is the Personal Project. This is a long term task that needs a lot of self and time management. We invite parents to a workshop on the 14th September from 9:00-10:30am where we will explain the requirements of this project and the challenges that your child might face. We will also brainstorm on ways that parents can. Help their sons and daughters.
2. Annual College Fair at XLIS – Monday, 25th September
To increase student awareness of the possibilities that exist after graduation, more than 20 college and university representatives are traveling to XLIS for the annual College Fair taking place in the Blue Dragon Theater on Monday, Sep 25th, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event is open to all students and families in XLIS as well as surrounding communities.
