The first “Blue Dragon Cup” swimming competition at Xi’an Liangjiatan International School
In order to further enrich the XLIS’ sports culture and create a healthy and harmonious campus atmosphere, Xi’an Liangjiatan International School held the first “Blue Dragon Cup” swimming competition on May 5, 2021 (Wednesday). 63 students from the primary school and 27 students from the middle school competed fiercely. In the end, P6B and M4A won the first place in the primary and middle school groups respectively.
In this swimming competition, the students of all grades at XLIS showcased their sportsmanship and competitive spirit. By participating in standardized sports events, our students are discovering the charm of competition and the endless benefits of sports. At the same time, they also grow an appreciation for being part of a team and the pride that comes with being active athletes. We hope that through these meaningful events we may continue to enhance a sense of collective honor, organizational cohesion, and vigorously promote the construction of a love of sports in our school.
During the interval of the competition, the Asian champions BanBao and DingJian from Kunqianqi Swimming Club also provided wonderful swimming demonstrations to the audience. These two teachers are also ECA swimming course coaches at our school. They use differentiated teaching methods to train the school swimming team, aiming to lay a good foundation for the echelon growth of our school’s swimming team and to attract more students who like swimming to join together and eventually represent the school in future competitions along with other schools.
Ban Bao
Ban Bao was selected to China’s National Swimming Team in 2006. He once won the gold medal of 100 meters freestyle in Asian Swimming Championships. He also won the gold medal of 100 meters freestyle and silver medal of 50 meters Butterfly in Sydney World Youth Championships.
Ding Jian
Ding Jian once won the gold medal of 100 meters freestyle, silver medal of 200 meters breaststroke and 200 meters bronze medal of medley in National Championship.
In addition, for the safety and health of students, our school will also carry out diversified practical experience activities such as underwater self-rescue and underwater escape in future swimming courses.
