Dear Parents,
Welcome back after the break! I hope our students had a nice break and are ready to come back for the exam season. I would like to let you know some of the exams that will be taking place for our students in the coming months, as well as a tip or two for success.
Measure of Academic Progress
MAP assessment will be taken by the largest group of students at our school. We made significant progress in our fall exams, with an increase of 13 exams above the US average. Let us work towards similar progress in our Spring session. MAP exams will take place from the 18-29th of May.
There are no past exam papers for the exam, but I have been using AI to generate questions to practice with my class. A prompt I use is “Give me a Grade 6 MAP reading question”. I have attached 10 sample questions as an example. The same can be done for Science, Math and Language Usage.

MYP e-Assessment
Our M5 students will take their e-assessment from May 4th to May 15th. These exams are online, and all teachers have been working on past papers in class. This will intensify prior to the exams. Our students have seen particular success in their personal projects this past year.
IBDP examinations:
The final DP exams start on April 27th. These are the final exams for our students. Let us wish them the very best of luck. Teachers will be available up until the date of the exams to work through exam papers and provide support. We will not be having study leave this year, rather teachers will be available to work with students on exam questions in class. This past year, we had 18/26 of our subjects achieving above the global average. With our strong cohort this year, we hope to build on this progress.
SAT
There will be two more SAT assessment dates available to our students. If any students wish to register for the exams, they may contact me before the deadline, and I will support them in registration.
- May 2, 2026 – Registration deadline: April 17
- June 6, 2026 – Registration deadline: May 22
Advanced Placement Exams
AP exams will take place at XLIS again this year. We will be holding four exams this year for our students. Exams will begin on May 4th this year. Our students will be taking four exams.
