Education is one of the main focuses and plans of the country and the party. During President Xi Jinping’s visit to Tsinghua University, President Xi emphasized, “young people should shoulder their historical mission, have firm confidence in their progress, set great aspirations, understand great virtues, cultivate great talents, and take up great responsibilities. Young people should also strive to become the new man of the times who can bear the huge responsibility for national rejuvenation, and so the youth can blossom in their unremitting struggle for the motherland, the nation, as well as the people and humanity.” Following the decision of the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to build a strong city of education and the action plan of Xi’an High-tech Zone: to implement the “1346 Plan” and strive to be the first demonstration zone for the construction of a stronger city of education, on September 10th, 2021, the 37th Chinese Teachers’ Day, Xi’an Liangjiatan International School organized a speech contest mainly faced to whole Chinese faculty themed with “Let Youth Blossom in Unrelenting Struggle” to foster the strength of unity and advancement in the community.
Xi’an Liangjiatan International School has 29 Chinese teachers and 26 Chinese teaching assistants, 57% of whom have a master’s degree or higher, 4% have a doctorate or higher, and 32% have overseas study and work experience. Our Chinese staff are part of the backbone of this community and have a vital role in fusing the essence of Chinese and Western educational philosophies and demonstrating traditional Chinese culture. Rooted in education, we are committed to developing students into excellent global citizens with ideas, goals, and sound personalities.
Faculties from both teaching and administrative positions, no matter who has grown up with the school for many years or just newly joined, have all responded enthusiastically and actively participated. Based on the school’s mission and vision, they do not forget their original aspirations and keep their mission in mind. With the changes that have taken place in school development and personal growth, they display their professional and personal feelings and love towards the party, their country, work, care for students, teaching and learning, and their passion for being a teacher. Through this organized speech contest by the school, the demeanor and charm of our teachers were fully demonstrated.
After the speech contest, all staff members studied the “Ten Rules of Professional Conduct for Teachers in the New Era”, “The Code of Professional Ethics for Teachers”, “The Regulations on Strictly Prohibiting Primary and Secondary Schools and Teachers Taking Compensatory Lessons” and “the Regulations on Strictly Prohibiting Teachers from Accepting Gifts from Students and Parents”.
