China National Finals includes knowledge assessment, case study analysis, team quiz bowl, and innovation challenges, comprehensively evaluating students’ economic thinking, logical reasoning, and teamwork.
CBPA National Finals
A globally recognized business challenge, the competition focuses on developing students’ business literacy, innovative thinking, and leadership skills. The competition center on business planning, project presentations, market analysis, and entrepreneurial practice, fully assessing students’ business competence, proposal design, and collaboration.
Achievements in both competitions are highly recognized by top universities worldwide. By qualifying for the Global Finals in Hong Kong, students gain valuable academic experience and strong support for their overseas university applications.
Our XLIS team poured their hearts into this journey, sacrificing lunch breaks, weekends, and holidays to advance from the preliminary rounds to the nationals. Remarkably, none of these students had taken formal Economics or Business Management classes, their success was fueled purely by unbridled enthusiasm for the subjects, a tight-knit sense of community, and unwavering support from the XLIS family.

Taking part in the CBPA competition has been an incredibly valuable and memorable experience for me, and I am truly grateful to have had the chance to compete on the national stage. Through this competition, I learned a great deal beyond academic knowledge, including practical skills in product packaging and presentation. I also gained a better understanding of how to highlight our product’s strengths, avoid its weaknesses, and build a unique sales model based on product differentiation. Most importantly, I experienced the power of teamwork, effective communication, and mutual support.
I want to start by sincerely thanking my school for the strong support and this precious opportunity. I am also very thankful to my teammates, we worked hard, collaborated closely, and met frequently to prepare for the competition, making the whole experience enjoyable and rewarding. Global round here we come!

CNEC was one of the most challenging and meaningful academic experience I have had. Our teacher prepared us during lesson during lunch, weekends, and holidays, strengthening our economics knowledge and problem-solving under timed conditions. We also completed a team-based online presentation on digital commerce, which broadened our understanding of how economic concepts can be applied in real-world scenarios.
The strong sense of interaction during the national round and the nature of the competitions truly fostered a strong sense of responsibility, as individual effort directly contributed to the team’s overall performance. Although we fell short for the global round, the experience was invaluable. I realized that there are many talented individuals around the world and that achieving excellence requires even greater effort. I am motivated to prepare harder next year and hope to participate again, aiming for results that reflect both personal dedication and team potential.

Our journey to Changsha’s National Rounds was filled with nerves and growth. For CBPA, I’ll never forget those late-night calls with my teammates, staying on the phone until 2 AM to debate every detail of our business proposal. With our teacher’s continuous guidance, we were able to secure a spot in the Global Round.
The CNEC preparation was equally intense but in a different way. Almost every morning during the winter break we attended online lessons at the crack of dawn, eyes half-open, to study complex economic theories with our teacher. Although we didn’t advance this time, competing under such high pressure in the National Round taught me more about resilience than any textbook could. The mutual trust in our team, working through the tension, was my greatest strength. This journey has really shown me how much we can achieve with the unwavering support of our school community.
