National Final Award Honor List
The 13th Beijing “OUTLOOK OF CHINA” Bilingual Culture and Art Festival has come to an end in 2022, and the Chinese Department of XLIS PYP has made great achievements in the national annual exhibition and evaluation activities. Among them, the ‘ancient costume textbook’ drama “Ximen Leopard Governing Ye” won three awards in the unit of OUTLOOK OF CHINA Youth Education Drama Competition: the first prize in the national annual final evaluation, the first prize in the national video evaluation, the excellent textbook drama award of the national annual final evaluation and XLIS was awarded the honorary title of “Demonstration School of Youth Education Drama” by the organizing committee of the Congress; In the “OUTLOOK OF CHINA” Chinese and English Classic Poetry Recitation Contest, a total of six students, including Liu Peixin, stood out at all levels of selection and won the third prize of the national annual final evaluation and the award of excellence!
Drama is a comprehensive art. The process of its creation, rehearsal, and performance can train people’s language and body expression ability, communication and cooperation ability, artistic aesthetic ability, and critical thinking. It is very suitable for training and improving students’ comprehensive quality. The Chinese Department of XLIS PYP attaches great importance to the cultivation of students’ drama literacy. Every school year, students will be carefully organized to create drama scripts and rehearse classic dramas so that students can experience the charm of drama in immersive drama practice.
Reciting Chinese classic poetry in both Chinese and English has set up a stage for XLIS students from all over the world to carry forward China’s excellent traditional culture and tell Chinese stories to the world, which has promoted their combination of language skills and cultural heritage, improved their cultural understanding and cross-cultural communication ability, and at the same time while appreciating the Chinese character and absorbing the Chinese spirit, It also enhances the national and cultural self-confidence of native speakers.
In the “OUTLOOK OF CHINA” Youth Education Drama Contest and the “OUTLOOK OF CHINA” Chinese and English Classic Poetry Recitation Contest, the students of PYP enthusiastically signed up and actively participated. Under the guidance of teachers, they were able to study carefully, ask for advice with an open mind, practice hard, cooperate, and bravely break through barriers, demonstrating the team style of our students who are studious and versatile. At the same time, we would like to thank PYP’s enthusiastic parents for their full support of the children and their full cooperation with the teachers in this activity.
“Chinese culture, World expression.” The fruitful achievements of this “OUTLOOK OF CHINA” Bilingual Culture and Art Festival are the glory of the entire XLIS learning community! We will take the sail of hope to continue to take telling the story about China well to the world as our mission and forge ahead!
