On February 6, the 1st Shaanxi Provincial Winter Games officially opened in Yulin. This was the first large-scale comprehensive winter sports event held in Shaanxi. Under the theme “Chasing Dreams on Ice and Snow, Shining Brightly for Shaanxi’s Future”, the games brought together outstanding ice and snow athletes from all over the province to compete.
Three students from XLIS — Gary Guo Yiding, Alisa Zhang Xiyue and Miki Gou Qian’en — took part in the Games with great enthusiasm, striving hard and expressing themselves on the ski slopes. All three young athletes achieved remarkable results:
Gary Guo Yiding won 1st place in the Men’s Group C (Youth Group) of Alpine Skiing and 2nd place in Men’s Group C (Slalom, Youth Group) of Alpine Skiing;
Alisa Zhang Xiyue claimed 1st place in Women’s Group C (Slalom, Youth Group) of Alpine Skiing and 2nd place in Women’s Group C (Youth Group) of Alpine Skiing;
Gou Qian’en took 3rd place in Men’s Group C (Youth Group) of Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom, bringing glory to our school together.
This excellent performance is not only the result of the students’ personal hard work, but also reflects our school’s emphasis on cultivating students’ diverse interests. The school always encourages students to follow their passions and dare to try, builds a diversified growth platform, and helps every student shine and pursue their dreams bravely in what they love.
