1. PTA Core Member Meeting
This was the last PTA meeting in 2022-2023, we mainly went through agendas as below:
· The 2023 U.N. International Day of Peace
· Annual Reflection and Free Communication about Summer Break Plan
2. Open Day
High School Open Day-Saturday, 3rd June
Lower Primary Open Day-Saturday, 10th June
In June, we’ve organized the last two Open Day events for High School and Lower Primary prospective students to step into XLIS and learn more IB DP Programme as well the PYP learning here at XLIS. Please kindly focus on the school official sharing of the Open Day event in following 2023-2024 Academic Year if you would like to participate XLIS Open Events.
3. XLIS vs DEXA International Students Debate Competition
On June 13th, a marvelous interschools discussion and debating event was held in the XLIS School Auditorium. DEXA and XLIS students came together to share ideas on seen topics and one unseen topic. Each student got the opportunity to share their ideas and make a point of view. They also respectfully considered other students’ points of view.
4. Summer Holiday Duration
Friday June 16th, 2023 marked the last day of the 2022-2023 academic year. The academic year of 2023-2024 starts on Monday August 14th, 2023, at regular times.
5. XLIS 2023 Summer Camp
From June 19 to July 1, XLIS held four summer camps with different themes for XLIS students of different ages.
Adhering to the principle of differentiated teaching, meeting the individual needs of students and attaching importance to the diversity of students, we offered courses such as English, Chinese, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, STEM, PSPE etc. These courses helped students learn in various ways, express themselves and give full play to their creative ability.
6. XLIS 2023 US KED / HAD Summer School
On June 19th,some students from PYP6 to MYP3 were accompanied by XLIS teachers to go to Kemesly School in Massachusetts and Harvard University for a 3-week summer camp, which will end on July 11th.

Thursday, 1st June for PYP4 Parents
Theme: Transdisciplinary Teaching in the PYP
This workshop taught parents what it means when we say in the PYP that our units of study are “transdisciplinary” and what it looks like in practice.
Tuesday, 6th June for PYP5 Parents
Theme: PYP Exhibition
Led by: Ms. Maria
This workshop gave our P5 parents a look into the journey their children would be going on for the exhibition in P6 and gave some advice on how to support them at home.
Thursday, 8th June for PYP6 Parents
Theme: How to communicate and nurture kids in puberty?
Led by: Ms. Michelle Taylor
Our school counselor, Ms. Michelle Taylor led a workshop for parents to help them navigate through the time when their children are going through puberty. Strategies for communicating with child effectively were also shared.

3. Secondary Subject and Learner Profile Awards Assembly
Every year, we recognize all our students for showing outstanding skills in the way they learn and the way they interact with each other. This year we recognized our students for having shown learner profile attributes and approaches to learning skills in their learning. We also awarded certificates to those who had outstanding performance in their subjects.
