Silk Road Classical Music Competition
The prestigious Silk Road Music Competition is a yearly event at XLIS that showcases our students’ musical skills in the realm of classical and traditional instruments. This event is closed to the public but will be broadcasted live to the community. The winners will receive a prize and will be part of the closing performance! Stay tune and watch our student performers shine from the comfort of your home!

Sports Day
The XLIS 2025 Sports Day is the culmination of our student athletes’ work in the disciplines of Track and Field. The parent community is welcomed to join this event and cheer for our students as they compete while showcasing their athletic skills and their understanding our the learner profile and school wide learner outcome “balanced”! This outdoors event starts at 8:30 AM on the XLIS Track and Field area.

Each Friday one of our homeroom classes has the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning! This is a student-led event that is supported by the teachers. The parents of the class that is presenting will be invited to join the audience.

Open Day

In March, XLIS will hold 2 Admission Open Days, and we invite all prospective families who are interested in enrolling in XLIS to sign up for the event. On the day of the event, the Primary Principal will give a comprehensive and in-depth introduction of primary curriculum. And students will have the chance to experience an IB style demo class. What’s more, the admission team will also lead you to visit the campus to learn about the school’s facilities, school life, admission criteria, etc., allowing you to experience high-quality international education in a comprehensive and multi-faceted manner. We look forward to meeting you at the Open Day and starting an educational journey full of hopes and dreams together.

Primary Maker Fair
Our third annual Maker Fair is just around the corner! This year’s theme, LEGO SPACE ADVENTURE, will challenge students to think creatively, collaborate with peers, and bring their innovative ideas to life. Students in class can use their LEGO pieces to construct individually or collaboratively in on March 11, Tuesday. Before that day, students need to bring their LEGO to school, and plan or design their projects connecting to the Space. After March 11, students’ projects will be kept outside for two days and voted by another class. Its result will show us the first three prizes in each class. Every winning individual or team will get certificates and be awarded in the primary school assembly.

Primary Parent Workshop
The title of this workshop is “Exploring the Differences Between the IB PYP Approach and Conventional Education” and will be led by Mr. Romann Loubser (P6A homeroom teacher) and Mr. Alex Zhu (P6A TA).
This parent workshop is designed to help parents understand the differences between the PYP educational approach and ‘traditional education’ and how the PYP benefits children’s learning. Parents will experience and be guided to explore the strengths of each system and learn how the IB PYP approach aligns with 21st-century skills and global citizenship.

ACAMIS MUN Event
XLIS will proudly host the ACAMIS Model United Nations (MUN) Conference 2025 from Friday, 28th February to Sunday, 2nd March. This year’s theme, “The Human Impact of Climate Change and Technological Disruption in Asia,” will guide delegates as they explore critical issues such as climate-induced migration and the role of artificial intelligence in economic development. During the conference, students will take on the roles of diplomats, participate in debates, negotiate solutions, and develop essential leadership and public speaking skills. Through this immersive experience, they will gain a deeper understanding of diplomacy, international cooperation, and global problem-solving. We look forward to welcoming all delegates to XLIS for an inspiring and impactful MUN experience!

Science Math Escape Room Challenge
Step into a world of mystery, logic, and discovery! The Science and Math Departments are bringing an exhilarating Escape Room challenge to XLIS on March 12th and 13th. Students will team up to solve puzzles, crack codes, and unravel scientific and mathematical clues in four immersive themes: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Ancient Egypt, Crime Scene Investigation, and Bio Lab. Each room presents unique challenges that will test critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Will you be able to escape in time?

IB DP Visual Arts Exhibition
The IB DP Visual Arts Exhibition is an exciting showcase of the creative journeys undertaken by our talented students. From 18-20 March 2025, 9am to 3pm, on our campus, we invite you to experience a rich collection of artworks that reflect diverse expressions, themes, and techniques developed throughout their artistic process. This exhibition is the culmination of years of exploration, innovation, and dedication, offering a glimpse into the unique perspectives of our students as they engage with the world through art. Join us in celebrating their accomplishments and witness the incredible depth of their artistic expressions!
