The 2021 “Outlook of China” Bilingual Culture and Art Festival was held in Beijing from July 18th to July 19th. The representative team of Xi’an Liangjiatan International School won the first prize of the “National Annual Final Evaluation of Youth Educational Drama”, the “Best Stage Effect Award” and the second (5 students) and third (3 students) individual speech awards!
# The “Outlook of China” series of activities #
Since its launch in 2010, the “Outlook of China” series of activities have attracted people from Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Xinjiang, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Henan, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Shandong, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Zhejiang nearly 20 provincial and municipal regions. Outstanding players and repertoires were finally selected from the accumulated more than one million students. With the purpose of ‘Chinese Culture·World Expression’, they gathered on the stage of “Outlook of China” to fluently and accurately to introduce Chinese culture in three dimensions in their speeches. They expressed thoughts, telling stories, reading Chinese and foreign classics, performing talents in both Chinese and English, and they achieved bilingual interpretation of classics, conveying the voice of China to the world, and telling Chinese stories well. The activity further strengthened the students’ consciousness of Chinese cultural spirit, promoted the inheritance and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture, expanded the influence of Chinese culture in the world, and made the world feel China’s profound cultural heritage.
The theme of this bilingual culture and art festival is “I express China to the world!” “Express China to the World!” and “Shining the stage of bilingual culture and achieving the Chinese star of hope!” “Beyond the Stage, to the World!”. The purpose of the activity is to encourage young students to establish a correct outlook on the world and life, and to encourage the school to cultivate bilingual and diversified talents with ideals and beliefs, cultural literacy, and cross-cultural communication skills under the guidance of the overall socialist core values. Another goal is to fully implement the “Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening and Improving School Aesthetic Education Work” of the General Office of the State Council and the “Several Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Promoting the Development of School Art Education” document spirit, promote the construction of campus culture in the new era of socialism, and show contemporary youth The student’s positive mental outlook.
The Tea House premiered at the Chinese New Year Drama Festival was screened through layers and finally entered the final review. The performance playfully demonstrates the students’ Chinese and English proficiency, talent skills, innovative thinking, and team spirit. It expanded international horizons, carried out international exchanges, and told the world the story of China. While preparing for the competition, teachers and students worked together to try a new educational drama model and developed an innovative model to improve the comprehensive ability of students and teachers.
