“Resilience is a precious skill. People who have it have three advantages: a belief they can influence life events, a tendency to find meaning and purpose in life’s turmoil, and a conviction they can learn from positive and negative experiences.” Amanda Ripley, Journalist. ——Amanda Ripley, Journalist.
At XLIS, we pride ourselves in being problem solvers and innovators. Despite the continuing challenges brought on by the current health crisis, we act like courageous participants in an obstacle course. Since the start of the year, the school’s various departments have worked in unison to deliver splendid events whether these had to be held internally or publicly. We broadcast each event to our parent community and focus on providing our students with the platforms they need to showcase their creativity as well as their academic, physical, social, and emotional growth.
The XLIS 2022 Spring Fair was no different. While we were disappointed that our parents could not join our celebrations on-site, we jumped into action and provided an alternative so that our students could still celebrate and through the live broadcasting of the event, share these precious moments with the broader community.
From the exciting Dragon Boat races to the cheerful performances that took place in our outdoors’ stage, our students reminded us of the importance of looking into the bright side of life no matter the circumstances.
We’d like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Li Zhijun, Director of the Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology for his encouraging words and for granting XLIS a certificate of recognition for its contributions to the growth of international education in the city. XLIS would also like to thank Mr. John Albert Carmichael, CTO of ORCA Data Technology Co., and Mr. Alexander Troshin, Technical Consultant of Western Superconducting Technologies Co., for their support and granting our students their generous gifts. We would also like to thank Samsung for their support and food stand.
In addition, we’d like to acknowledge each department and staff member at XLIS for working together for the students that breathe life into these facilities, day after day. Your dedication is commendable and inspiring!
Finally, we thank our students for their spirit and energy. Once more they have demonstrated their love of learning, and their desire to become confident global citizens of tomorrow.
