Dear Parents,
We are excited to inform you about the upcoming Week Without Walls (WWW), a compulsory off-campus learning experience for all secondary students from June 1st to June 5th (Sunday – Thursday). Please note that Friday, June 6th, will be a non-school day for all secondary students who participate in the trip.
After a careful selection process, we have confirmed our official trip partner to ensure a meaningful and well-organised experience. Below are the designated locations for each grade level:
- MYP1: Chengdu, Sichuan
- MYP2: Chongqing
- MYP3: Foshan, Guangdong
- MYP4: Yangshuo, Guangxi
- MYP5: Zhangzhou, Fujian
- DP1: Lijiang, Yunnan
Each trip will be supervised by a team of teachers and administrative staff at a 1:7 teacher-student ratio for safety and guidance. Two lead teachers will oversee each group:
- MYP1: Ms. Engela & Ms. Ran
- MYP2: Ms. Momo & Ms. Annie
- MYP3: Mr. Ramil & Ms. Eunice
- MYP4: Mr. Sunil & Ms. Kate
- MYP5: Ms. Emma & Mr. Hugil
- DP1: Mr. Sky & Ms. Jane
The Week Without Walls is an integral part of our educational approach, designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. Through experiential learning, students will:
· Develop Global Citizenship Skills: Engage with different cultures, traditions, and communities.
· Apply Classroom Knowledge to Real-World Contexts: Participate in hands-on learning activities related to environmental conservation, cultural heritage, and sustainable development.
· Enhance Personal Growth & Leadership: Foster independence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through various outdoor and service-learning projects.
· Engage in Service as Action (MYP) & CAS (DP): Contribute meaningfully to local communities through carefully planned service activities aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In the coming weeks, we will send a detailed trip itinerary via your child, and all relevant information will also be available on ManageBac.
