Xi’an Liangjiatan International School (XLIS) was founded in 2003. It is the first IB World School authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization in the northwestern region of China. It is also a non-profit international school established by the Xi’an Municipal Government, and the Hi-Tech Zone Administrative Committee of Xi’an with the objective of serving the Shaanxi Free Trade Zone. The college application process presents an opportunity for personal growth, self-reflection, and self-discovery. At XLIS, we seek to provide students with the tools they will need to navigate the different pathways of college admission. While the outcomes are important, we believe that college admission is one finding good matches between students and colleges. This is a personal journey and an opportunity for life changing. The XLIS College Guidance Counseling Service is provided to support and guide students and their families as they engage in this sometimes daunting process. Higher secondary school students have two regular lessons per week to guide the students in high school to prepare for university applications at all stages, such as how to choose a school, the requirements for admission, the application platforms and how to prepare personal documents, how to request and prepare other application materials such as recommendation letter and standardized examination.
Student Accomplishment
IB DP Visual Art exhibition – Come Find Us. Class of 2021 art students surprise all of the audience. These amazing young artists express their personal views, feelings and insights of the world through a variety of art works: easel painting, digital art, installation art and other art media and creative forms of expression. All of the students impressed us so much! Besides their excellent technical skills, the young artists` perspectives came through, the artworks revealed their own interpretation of life, the observation ability and thinking depth of these young people. What’s more, the theme resonated together with the audience and it made people reflect on their own lives! This is what it`s all about!
Our graduates have worked very hard and have accomplished much. University offers are awarded for academic excellence, service in the community and the world. At this moment, the whole world is undergoing the hard time of COVID-19. We are glad to see that many countries cooperate and share successful experiences. In the future, the world will be more closely linked, which requires more compassionate and international minded people like these young men and women. They recognize the spirit of humanity, share the responsibility of protecting the earth (and as stated in the mission of the International Baccalaureate) “help create a better and more peaceful world.” (IBO) The XLIS secondary teachers feel proud to have contributed to the growth of these young people and look forward to see what they will accomplish in the world. Again, congratulations, Class of 2021!
