Dear Parents,
Hope this email finds you well. Keep warm as winter starts to set in with rapid drops in temperature and change in air quality. The school monitors the air quality carefully and our standard is no outdoor activities if AQI crosses 170. Here is the link the school uses for our AQI measurements (we are in Chang’an District):

Week without walls (WWW)-Our risk assessment trips for the WWW are on at the moment. Teachers are navigating and ensuring that the locations our students are traveling to are safe. To ensure that parents are informed about the activities that will happen over the WWW, we have arranged a parent information session that will be led by the vendor who is partnering with us for the trips. This session is scheduled for November 19 from 09:30-11:00 am in the Blue Dragon auditorium. Please let your homeroom teachers know if you are coming for the session by Friday (November 14). We want to ensure that we can support your queries on trips efficiently. PR will also be sending you a reminder on this. Once again, we strongly encourage your to come for this meeting.
November 17 and 18 PD days-These are non-school days as our teachers engage in Professional Development. The Secondary Team will be working in-house with sessions on Approaches to teaching and learning, integrating Theory of Knowledge (TOK) into subjects, Inter-disciplinary units (IDUs) and department requirements over this two day time period.
December 3-Parent workshop for M4 and M5 parents. This is for understanding how DP subjects choices work and we strongly recommend that M5 parents are in attendance. This is a build up to the DP subject selection for M5 students that will follow on December 16th. The session will be run by our DPC, Ms. Eva Liu. Close to the date, PR will send out the mails that will help in registration.
Our season two for sports has started and our team sports are in full swing. We encourage you to support our teams and your children by visiting during the games.
Stay healthy and keep warm,
Shameek
