Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well. Thanks to the DP parents and guardians who came in for the graduation last Friday. The graduation was a reminder for us at school on the responsibilities we shoulder as a parent-teacher-leadership community. We are into our final month of the academic year before we break for summer. There will be lots to work on during summer apart from having some well deserved rest and time with friends and family.
Thanks to all parents who wrote in to me on student placement requests. I would be looking into all requests made up and until May 22 as mentioned in all my emails prior to this. Any and all requests received after May 22 and those pertaining to request for teachers would not be entertained . Thanks for your understanding. The final homeroom lists will not be published until August, 2026.
The MAP tests for the Spring session are now completed and your child’s homeroom teachers would have sent home the family reports that allow you to know more in detail how your child performed in these. I would suggest using the family reports from Fall, 2025 and Spring 2026 together to determine progress and specific areas to grow in. It is also important to maintain communication with your child’s homeroom teachers on how improvements can be made.
Our work experiences from M4 and M5 have been fantastic as I have been hearing good things from students and parents likewise. We will be gathering students together in homerooms to have a reflection on what their biggest learnings have been and how they can extend this real life experience into improving themselves in their classes; the biggest one being self-management skills.
On June 4th, we will have a parent workshop on reading and summer schools. Please watch out for emails from PR on this. On June 16th, our MYP 5 students will have their celebrations that is a testimony of successful completion of M5 and looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead of them in their lives as DP students in the future.
Reports and final day of school-We are working on our reports and this is due to go out on the last day of school on 19th of June. We will also have our annual ‘Fun run’ on that day, which has now become part of our tradition in secondary. The reports would be the end of semester ones that will have cumulative comments on performance over the semester and each subject would have grades 1-7 across MYP to DP. DP will also have reports on TOK, EE and CAS status.
