Parent-Principal Coffees
As mentioned in the PTA meeting on February 14th, in order to continue approaching WASC Goal 4: enhancing family-school communication, a new session – Coffee with the principal will be opened on Monday mornings during this semester from March 6th. Mr. Brian, the Deputy Head of School, and I would like to meet three family times separately to address parents’ concerns about students’ growth. welcome to register through the link below. 2023 Summer Program
In response to some parents’ requests for recommendations for summer school activities, the “Summer 2023 Program” email has been sent through PR on February 24, which includes on-campus free summer camps（ registration is closed） and overseas optional summer programs（the deadline for registration is March 10th). Please check the email for more details and discuss it with your children to see if they are interested in participating. 2023-2024 XLIS School Calendar
The 2023-2024 XLIS school calendar has been released, you can find it on the XLIS website (https://xalis.com/school-calendar/) and arrange your family plans in advance. Please note that the whole school calendar only marks school-wide academic events and holidays. For divisional calendars, please refer to the principal’s follow-up notice.
I would like to highlight March’s upcoming events as follows.
Early release of March
Students will be released early from school on Wednesday afternoon, March 1st, along with professional development for all faculty and staff. Please be well noted that students will be released from school at 14:20 tomorrow and schedule an early pick-up in advance.
Whole School Science Fair
This year the secondary school and the primary school will take part in the Science fair on Tuesday, March 14th. There will be a variety of interesting experiments that will be displayed by our students and lots more interesting activities. You are welcome to come and experience the charm of science together!
DP2 Visual Arts Exhibition
The DP2 students will exhibit the artwork which they have created for their process portfolios for the final IB exam session of May 2023. Looking forward to seeing you for the opening ceremony on Monday, March 20th, from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm. And the artwork will remain until Thursday, March 23rd if you want to come later.
MYP5 Personal Project Exhibition
Before transferring to the DP program, M5 students are required to complete the Personal Project to display their learning outcomes in MYP for 5 years. All parents are warmly invited to come to school for the exhibition on Friday, March 24th!
Silk Road Classical Music Competition and Recital
To provide a platform for students to showcase their classical music talents, the Silk Road Classical Music Competition and Recital will be held at XLIS on Saturday, March 25th. All young musicians are welcome to register and participate in the live Music Competition. The registration details have been sent out through PR email, please note and do not hesitate to contact Mr. Kim at pg.kim@xalis.com if you have any further questions.
