1. The 2022 Youth Science Forum
On the morning of Saturday April 9th, 2022, XLIS set the stage for a unique intellectual exchange for students from various schools, to reflect and present their understanding of the UN SDGs, in the context of “carbon peak and neutrality”. The forum was organized into two interconnected phases consisting of an opening session featuring keynote speeches by leading researchers, and the second phase showcasing speeches by local and international students.
During the first half of the conference, Dr. Guangxi Li, Dr. Dubkova Olga, Dr. Jiayin Wang, Dr. Ali Shirvani and Dr. Pingping Luo shared their insights on the global issues taking center stage at the forum, while also exploring new initiatives to achieve China’s “dual carbon” goals.
During the second half of the event, more than 50 students from Xi’an Gaoxin Experimental Primary School, Xi’an Foreign Language School, Xi’an No.2 Foreign Language School, Xi’an Tie Yi High School, Xi’an Gaoxin No.1 Middle School, High School Affiliated to Xi’an Jiaotong University, The International Department of SSDFZ (SSFBC), and Xi’an Liangjiatan International School, fervently shared their thoughts on sustainability and achieving China’s carbon peak and neutrality objectives.
2. PTA Core Members Meeting
Mr. Zhang Hui, the Chairman of PTA, and Mr. Brian Lalor, the Primary Principal, conducted training on the “Duty of the PTA members” and the “Child Protection Policy” respectively at the monthly PTA core member meeting. Besides, Ms. Jia Tiantian, PTA active member shared her experience in home-school communication among grade groups.

02. PYP Parent Coffee Morning
Exchange of Mandarin Study Methods for Native Chinese Speaking PYP Students
This workshop was delivered by our Head of Mandarin, Ms. Nancy Jing. She gave parents suggestions on how to support students whose mother tongue is Chinese at home. The main goal of this session was to teach some effective operation methods to help improve the effect of Chinese learning.

Secondary School Events
1. DP2 Mock Exams
This was the final day of the 5-day exams for our DP students. The mock exams prepared the DP students for their final exams in May.
2. Secondary Sports Day
The Middle and High School students were competing in Dynasty groups. A fundraiser to support students in Uganda was run by SA, CAS students & student council.
3. MYP Parent Coffee Morning
4. IBDP Exams Commence
The IB Diploma Programme exams last for three weeks. Our DP students demonstrated their learning across subjects in these culminating exams. Students will receive their IB DP results on July 6th and results will be sent to universities as requested by students. We wish all of our DP students the best of success.
