Whole School Events
1. PD (Early Release) – Wednesday, 6th March
School buses will leave at 14:30 for staff professional development. Our secondary school will be working on language progression throughout the MYP. Primary school teachers will continue their work on inclusion, focusing on specific barriers to learning.
2. PTA Core Members Meeting – Tuesday, 12th March
The monthly PTA core members meeting of March will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, and we will notify all PTA members by email later on.
3. Science / Maker Fair – Tuesday, 12th March
The XLIS Science & Maker Fair is an eagerly awaited event that serves as a platform for students to showcase their creativity and hard work in the STEM field. Each primary class will establish its stations with students’ intriguing work and posters, providing an opportunity for students from different grades to interact and learn through observation and play. The fair will also feature more than 80 projects from secondary school, carefully selected for their resourcefulness and commitment. The XLIS Science & Maker Fair presents an exciting journey of scientific exploration, where curiosity leads to discovery and innovation has no boundaries.
4. ACAMIS Jr. Swimming Competition
Friday, 15th March – Saturday, 16th March
XLIS is honored to host the 2024 ACAMIS Jr. Swim Competion. ACAMIS is a network of 90 international schools throughout China and Mongolia that organizes sporting competitions for students of its member schools. 450 students from 24 schools across China will travel to XLIS to participate in this prestigious competition. It is the first time an ACAMIS sports event has been held in Xi’an.
5. Track and Field Day – Friday, 29th March
XLIS is proud to announce one of its most exciting athletics’ event of the year! Our Track and Field day will take place on Friday March 29th, 2024. This event will feature students from all year levels as they compete in races, jumps, short put, and more! More information will be sent to you soon. Come and cheer them on and feel the spirit of competition at XLIS!

Each Friday one of our homeroom classes has the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning! This is a student-led event that is supported by the teachers. The parents of the class that is presenting will be invited to join the audience.

1. Parent Workshop (for DP2 Parents) – Tuesday, 5th March
This workshop is aimed at understanding the stress that our students face as they near the finals in DP. Mr. Shameek will talk about ways to help students manage their stress and have a positive mindset when sitting for the finals.
2. MYP Personal Project – Friday, 22nd March
We are delighted to invite you to celebrate the power of learning at the MYP Personal Project Exhibition on March 22nd, 2024. The exhibition showcases the meaningful experiential learning that our students have passionately worked on throughout the year. By demonstrating their exceptional accomplishments and creative pursuits as self-regulated learners, our MYP5 students truly inquire into the world around them, address global issues, and embody global values.
