Whole School Events
1. National Holiday – Friday, October 1st – Sunday, October 10th
Our school’s National Holiday is observed from the 1st to the 10th of October, 2021. From October 11th to 12th, we will have PD for Primary and Secondary teachers. We kindly remind you there is no school during these dates. School will begin again on Wednesday the 13th of October, 2021.
2. PTA Core Members Meeting – Tuesday, October 19th
This is a private event designed for PTA Core Members only. PTA Core Members will be notified accordingly.
Primary School Events
1. Assemblies – Fridays
Primary assemblies enable students to actively display what they have taken from their units of inquiry during the year. Students have been working on a trans-disciplinary theme which focuses on knowledge, concepts, ATLs (Approaches to Learning), action and Learner Profile attributes. The schedule is as follows,
# 5th October, 14:40-15:25 – P6B, Blue Dragon Theater
# 22nd October, 14:40-15:25 – Perfoming Art, (LP), Blue Dragon Theater
# 29th October, 14:40-15:25 – P6A / ECEB1, Blue Dragon & Small Theater

2. Primary PD – Monday, October 11th – Tuesday, October 12th
Approaches to Learning are a key component of the IBPYP. Teachers will have virtual training during these two days. There will be no students or workshops during these days.
3. Parents Coffee Morning – Wednesday, October 27th
Time: 8:30-10:00
Theme: Phonics & Reading
Host: Benjamin Wright
Venue: Blackbox
During this workshop participants will engage in learning activities to connected to phonics and reading. They will come away with ideas to support children with literacy development at home.
Note: Parents will be warmly welcomed. Details will be sent to you via email by Mr. Lalor.
Secondary School Events
1. Secondary PD – Tuesday, October 12th
There will be no school as secondary teachers will be attending professional development with Inspire Citizens.
2. Student Leadership Event – Wednesday, October 13th – Thursday, October 14th
On Wednesday, Steven Sostak of Inspire Citizens will work with the whole secondary on a creative project where students will explore their skills, talents and passions in community. Throughout Wed and Thurs, Steve will work with different groups of students to develop leadership skills.
3. Progress Reports – Friday, October 15th
All students in the secondary will be receiving their anecdotal reports with comments on ATL (Approaches to Leaning) skills and Learner Profile attributes and subject specific skills and progress. The DP2 students will receive reports with grades out of IB 7 points for each subject.
4. DP Parents Coffee Morning – Wednesday, October 27th
Time: 9:00
Theme: Welcome to DP
Host: Jaimala Quinlan, Kate Yu, Keonseung Yang, Daun Yorke
Venue: A1006 Conference Room
The elements of the DP are explained in English, Chinese and Korean. The road to university time line is shared (for DP1 and 2 students). Special introduction to DP in Korean by new Korean teacher, Keonseung Yang.

5. Three- Way Conferences – Wednesday, October 20th
Secondary students and teachers will be invited to attend the three-way conferences to talk with all subject teachers about the children’s progress in term one.
