This summer, Xi’an Liangjiatan International School was busy with renovations and construction projects to improve our campus. As students and staff enjoyed their well-deserved break, our school’s logistic and brand development teams were busy with change, growth, and renewal. From new playground equipment to refreshed classrooms, our commitment to creating the best learning environment for our students was on full display. At XLIS, we believe that learning doesn’t just happen within the four walls of a classroom; it extends to every corner of our campus. Every new installation, renovation, and touch of creativity has been thoughtfully designed to foster our schools’ mission and vision.
An Adventure Playground for Risk-Takers
One of the most exciting additions this summer is the new adventure area in the PYP playground. With a focus on encouraging students to be risk-takers, this new space provides more room and variety for play. Here, students can climb, explore, and challenge themselves, building confidence and resilience along the way.
Nurturing Balance and Coordination in Early Years
Our youngest learners are thrilled with the new equipment in the early years’ playground. From diggers that encourage exploration and fine motor skills to stepping stones and balance beams that develop coordination, this area is designed with the Inquirer and Balanced IB attributes in mind. As children navigate these elements, they learn to trust themselves, test their limits, and interact with the world around them in meaningful ways.
A Melodic Journey Through Renovated Music Spaces
Music is the universal language. Our recently remodelled music corridor provides the ideal environment for our students to be communicators. This corridor’s renovated look encourages creativity and provides a lively medium for students to express themselves via music, rhythm, and sound. Our secondary music classroom also received a comfortable makeover with new carpeting, creating an inviting space where students can explore their musical talents.

Innovating in the Makerspace
The PYP Makerspace has undergone a transformation, with new furniture, a purpose-built student workbench, and state-of-the-art 3D printers. This space is a hub for knowledgeable thinkers who are eager to create, build, and innovate.
Showcasing Student Excellence
At XLIS, we celebrate student work not just in classrooms, but throughout the entire school. Our redecorated stairways and hallways now serve as galleries that showcase the talents of our students. As students walk these halls, they are reminded of their accomplishments, inspired by their peers, and motivated to continue striving for excellence.
